Job description:
We are seeking for a motivated and adaptable Mechanical/Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of our Climate Control Storage Systems and Handling & Grading lines across Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in both mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in equipment assembly, wiring, and diagnostics. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects and play a vital role in supporting the success of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out mechanical installations of Tolsma's Climate Control Equipment.
- Complete electrical connections for the communication systems & sensors
- Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to resolve complex issues.
- Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, schematics, and wiring drawings.
- Support the design and implementation of new systems and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records, including service logs and maintenance reports
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Position requires frequent overnight travel (approx. 70%+/-) to support regional operations across Australia.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical/ Electrical Technician or similar hands-on technical role
- Practical experience with equipment assembly, wiring and troubleshooting
- Drivers license
- Valid Forklift and/or Scissor Lift Licence
- One of the following qualifications (desired but not essential):
- Restricted Electrical Licence or working towards
- Cert III, IV or Advanced Diploma/ Diploma of Air conditioning and Refrigeration Electrotechnology
- Cert II in Split Air Conditioning
- UEE3211 Certificate III in Appliance Service
- UE20111 Certificate II in Split Airconditioning and Heat Pump Systems
Personal Attributes & Skills:
- Solid Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, systems and components.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Agricultural background is a positive
- Unrestricted work rights for both Australia
