Job description: 

We are seeking for a motivated and adaptable Mechanical/Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of our Climate Control Storage Systems and Handling & Grading lines across Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in both mechanical and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in equipment assembly, wiring, and diagnostics. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects and play a vital role in supporting the success of our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical installations of Tolsma's Climate Control Equipment.
• Complete electrical connections for the communication systems & sensors
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to resolve complex issues.
• Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, schematics, and wiring drawings.
• Support the design and implementation of new systems and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records, including service logs and maintenance reports
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Position requires frequent overnight travel (approx. 70%+/-) to support regional operations across Australia.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical/ Electrical Technician or similar hands-on technical role
• Practical experience with equipment assembly, wiring and troubleshooting
• Drivers license
• Valid Forklift and/or Scissor Lift Licence
• One of the following qualifications (desired but not essential):
• Restricted Electrical Licence or working towards
• Cert III, IV or Advanced Diploma/ Diploma of Air conditioning and Refrigeration Electrotechnology
• Cert II in Split Air Conditioning
• UEE3211 Certificate III in Appliance Service
• UE20111 Certificate II in Split Airconditioning and Heat Pump Systems

Personal Attributes & Skills:

• Solid Understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, systems and components.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Agricultural background is a positive
• Unrestricted work rights for both Australia
