Mega receiving hopper for Waterman Onions
It is located in Emmeloord, one of the largest receiving hoppers in the world!
This giant was transported last Thursday, under supervision and escort, to its new owner Waterman Onions. Every year, Waterman Onions dries, packages and sorts around 130.000 tons of onions all over the world. For the large-scale storage of onions, Waterman was looking for an efficient approach. Tolsma-Grisnich thought along to find a suitable solution for this question, and with success!
Developed by Tolsma-Grisnich
The receiving hopper which was developed at the Grisnich production facility has a length of almost 20 meters and a width of 3.95 meters. And then you may rightfully speak of a giant! The big advantage of this receiving hopper is to minimize the waiting times of the truck. This is a continuous process. Now there is no more buffering in the truck, but in the receiving hopper.
Parties Tolsma-Grisnich and Waterman Onions have known each other for years. “We regularly discuss with Tolsma-Grisnich. As big players in the storage and processing we complement each other well. This is not always easy, but in the end we value each other’s qualities and that is the only thing that matters: to continue and improve the business process”, according to Wim Waterman.
