From test facility to practice: SKL installations on the road to success

For a potato processor in Germany, Tolsma-Grisnich is supplying a complete, high-quality washing installation for processing potatoes. Each washing line has a nominal capacity of 70 tonnes of potatoes per hour and a peak capacity of 100 tonnes per hour. The complete project consists of three washing lines.

Each washing line consists of a stone, clod and haulm separator, a drum washer and a hedgehog belt for removing haulm and product residues. The installation is made entirely of stainless steel and features energy-efficient drives, low-maintenance components and advanced sensor technology.

The use of water recirculation and efficient wastewater treatment minimises water consumption and improves the sustainability of the process.

The project contributes to the reliable, efficient and product-friendly cleaning of potatoes, effectively removing stones, clods, haulm and other contaminants before further processing.

Before the machines were shipped, they underwent extensive testing at our test facility. This allowed us to carefully test and adjust their operation, quality and performance. In this way, we ensure that every installation is delivered fully in accordance with the customer’s requirements and is ready for reliable commissioning.

This impressive project is currently being installed on site. Curious about the progress and final result? Follow us on social media and stay up to date with the latest developments!

Part 2

Testing a stainless-steel processing line at a potato processor in Germany

Following a successful testing phase at our own test facility, this impressive project in Germany has now entered the final stage of installation. The three complete washing lines have been installed, and the final work is being carried out to prepare the installation for commissioning.

Extensive testing and adjustments are currently taking place on site. During this testing and start-up phase, our specialists check the operation of all system components, the interaction between the different systems and the performance of the complete installation. Each stone, clod and haulm separator, drum washer and hedgehog belt is carefully inspected and further optimised where necessary.

These extensive practical tests not only ensure the reliability of the installation but also safeguard the product-friendly handling and high capacity for which the washing lines were designed. This ensures that the production lines can start up smoothly and meet the customer’s expectations from day one.

The installation for this potato processor is made entirely of stainless steel. It therefore meets the strict requirements of the potato-processing industry in terms of hygiene, durability and ease of maintenance. The stainless-steel construction also provides a robust and reliable installation capable of withstanding intensive, long-term use.

We look forward to the official commissioning of this impressive installation and are proud of the collaboration with everyone involved in making this project possible.
